Blender 2.8 Halftone Shaders v0.12
6 types of highly adjustable Halftone Patterns for NPR Shader Creation in Blender 2.8.
Includes 6 Sample Shaders and Documentation for easy use.
The Shaders are most suitable for rendering with Eevee.
Description
With this file you get 6 types of highly fexible halftone patterns:
- dots
- inverted dots
- lines
- dither
- smooth dither
- noise
All patterns are RGB, wich means they account for all color information you pass through them.
The dither patterns use a small 8x8 texture. All other patterns are completely procedural.
You can use the shaders as they are to give your render a true halftone look. But you can also build your own advanced materials with it. This way, you are way more flexible regarding the look of you material.
I've added 6 simple example materials to give you an impression of what you can do with this patterns. I also made a short tutorial to explain the concept of building your own materials. You can watch it here:
You can adjust the brightness, contrast, rotation, scale, RGB offset and RGB offset rotation for the dots and line patterns. For the dither and noise node there are brightness, contrast and scale.
Note
This is a blender 2.8 file and will not work with 2.79 or previous versions.
The shaders are most suitable for rendering with Eevee, because the crucial Shader-To-RGB node isn't supported in Cycles yet. You can use the patterns itself in Cycles, but you have to use another input method than Shader-To-RGB. The nodegroups support RGB and single values between 0 and 1.
Enjoy!
