Documentation (history)
German tanks were an important part of the Wehrmacht and played a pivotal role throughout the war, and especially in blitzkrieg strategy. In the later, more troublesome and protracted campaigns, German tanks proved adaptable and efficient adversaries to the Allies. When the Allied forces technically managed to outperform earlier German tanks in battle, they still had to contend with the experience and skills of the German tank crews and the more powerful and technologically advanced later tanks such as the Panther, Tiger I and the Tiger II. who had a reputation for being fearsome opponents.
