Featured Interview: Fabelar

Our growing marketplace is continuously featuring more and more variety - we recently interviewed Fabio "Fabelar" Belardi about his architectural design models, one of the newer category he's helping drive forward.
Don't miss checking out his Cubebrush store for hundreds of fantastic 3D models!
Q. To begin, where does Fabelar come from - how did it get started?
Fabelar it's the fusion between my name and surname: Fabio Belardi. I loved the sound from the first time and the fact that it reminds the word "fable", isn't 3D a fantastic world?!
Q. You have an incredible amount of quality content on your store and elsewhere online, what's your secret?
There are several but they are advice instead: work hard, never get tired of learning, watching the work of the most talented artists with admiration and curiosity, to think that any success is only one step in a long journey and not the final goal. Try to focus on quality over quantity though of course after so many years the number of models grows inevitably : )
Q. Who would you say are your main types of customers?
All of them, the spectrum is really huge, from the student who needs help to finish a job to the big company that is planning to develop a video game. Architects who need to visualize their ideas in 3D, parents who want to print your favorite character of their children in 3D, people who wants to see and navigate their new house in 3D to choose the right materials and furniture to make it perfect, people developing apps for smartphones, the list could be really really long.
Q. What is your best tip for other sellers/readers on how to successfully sell 3D content online?
The best tips to me are 2: first concentrate on quality, the higher the quality you will be able to provide the customer the higher will be the chance he come back to you more times. Furthermore a flawless model allow the client to use it without wasting hours on fixes. Second try to create your own style, make your models recognizable at first glance.
Q. For artists who would want to follow in your footsteps and make beautiful architectural models and designs, where would you recommend they start?
Take inspirations from great architects and interior designers, there are so many of them around the world it makes difficult to list them. Search the internet for beautiful pictures and learn principle of photography, learn how photography and light work in real world will make the difference to get memorable photo-realistic renderings.
Q. Pizza or Pie?
I'm Italian, pizza without any doubt... but I'll keep the pie as dessert.
Q. Finally, do you have any big plans or project for 2016 you'd like to share?
Yes I have 2 big projects running both in 2016 but I can talk about them unfortunately at this time.
Stay tuned... !
