Furniture is the set of furniture, seats or beds in a room. It aims to provide its inhabitants and users with specific utilities that facilitate their daily activities, such as eating, sleeping, resting, reading, among others. It can also have a symbolic or religious function. Historically, furniture has traditionally used wood as the main material of its constitution, however other materials such as metals, bones, stone, ceramics and, more recently, plastics have always been used. Materials such as paper, fabric, animal skins, leather, vegetable fibers, among others, are also used for some specific coating and beautification functions.
