Acacia amoena is known as the Boomerang Wattle this name probably refers to the shape of the phyllode but this name could apply to any number of species with similar phyllodes.
It is an erect to spreading shrub that grows to about 3 m tall. Acacia amoena, once established, has very low water requirements. It is found along the Great Dividing Range in western parts of New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria where it is often a part of dry sclerophyll forest or open woodland communities on rocky slopes and creek banks growing in rocky soils
