Hair Salon Toolkit – IMM Curve Brushes & Curve-Based Hair System for ZBrush and Blender
Designing stylized hair can be both an art and a technical challenge. The Hair Salon Toolkit offers a comprehensive solution for artists using ZBrush or Blender, enabling the creation of detailed hairstyles with ease and efficiency.
ZBrush Version
The IMM curve brush for ZBrush includes a diverse collection of hair elements: 90 hair flakes, 64 braids, 89 curls, 24 twisted hair strands, and 9 rastas. Each brush is configured with unique Curve Falloff settings and creased edges, allowing for natural clump shapes upon subdivision. Some shapes comprise multiple meshes, which can be separated using the Move Topological brush after applying the curve stroke. Additionally, all meshes come with unwrapped UVs, facilitating immediate texture application without the need for manual UV mapping, provided the base mesh has existing UVs.
Blender Version
The Blender toolkit mirrors the ZBrush version, excluding the rasta styles. Hair strands are constructed using multiple bezier curves: one defining the profile, another the strand's direction, and, in complex styles, a third to refine the final shape. This setup allows for non-destructive editing, granting full control over the direction, size, and shape of hair strands and profiles. Artists can adjust existing strands or create custom hair profiles to suit their specific needs.
Whether you're aiming for flowing locks, intricate braids, or voluminous curls, the Hair Salon Toolkit equips you with the tools to bring your characters' hairstyles to life with professional quality and flexibility.
