Blender CSV Exporter - Instances

READ "Known Issues" before buying!

Blender CSV Exporter is a Blender Addon that allows you to export the ID, Location, Rotation, and Scale of the selected objects in a .csv file format.

This could be useful in programs like Unreal Engine for it to know where to instantiate objects so you won't manually reassemble everything.

It was tested in Blender - Unreal Engine workflow ONLY.

Installation: Open Blender>Edit>Preferences>Addons>Install>Make sure is Enabled>Should appear in the N panel as CSV. Blender Version should be at least 2.80 which shouldn't be a problem for most of you.

Addon Functionality:

For now, it works only for the selected objects.

The addon will export: ID Number, Location, Rotation(converted to degrees), and Scale.

You can choose where to export the CSV file. (Current Blend file folder or Custom Location.)

Filename - Choose a name for the .csv. Same name results in replacing the old file. (example: "Test.csv" will replace "Test.csv" if you want to save both in the same folder).

Unit Scale - is linked to the Blender Unit Scale to make it easier to see and control it.

Known issues:

  • Geometry Nodes aren't supported yet. If you build an object like the one in the 5th image, even after you apply the "Geometry Node" modifier, separate the objects by loose parts, and apply origin to geometry, the rotation could be wrong in some cases.

  • By default, Blender is using Meters as Unit Scale. This means some of the parameters (such as Location or Scale) might look different between programs (making the objects appear clipped or distanced). A fix for that is identifying the unit scale of the Game Engine or 3D Software you are using. (Example: I want to export data from Blender and import it into Unreal Engine. Blender uses Meters while Unreal Engine uses Centemeters. That means I need to multiply Location or Scale to 100 to make the conversion. Most often the location).

  • Sometimes the Objects are flipped. You need to make sure that the scale is set to Positive 1. Also, make sure that the base object is facing the right direction.
